Years in Beauty
Ivana Coquetú spent years performing aerial as a competitor and hobbyist, always telling herself she wasn't quite ready for the stage. Then she turned 40 and decided ready was overrated. She made her burlesque debut five years ago and hasn't looked back. Since then she has performed on stages that most people don't even know exist — from Coney Island's Seashore Theater to Sabbath Brewery, from the Atlanta Steampunk Convention and Furry Week Atlanta to Southeast Leather Fest, Senoia Fall Festival, and the National Reformative Jewish Rabbinical Convention. She has always found her way into the rooms where the real conversations happen. The unconventional ones. The ones that leave a mark.
Before the mic, there was the chair — and before that, the lens. Ivana holds a Bachelor's in Photography from the Corcoran College of Art and Design at GW University, a foundation that shaped how she sees everything: light, composition, the truth hiding just beneath the surface. That visual instinct carried her into the professional beauty industry, where she's been working since 2008 — salon ownership, event and film hair and makeup, and years in branding, marketing, and sales leadership for professional beauty companies. She didn't just do the work; she trained the next generation of salon industry leaders in both business and craft. That same instinct — to teach, to elevate, to build something that lasts — runs through everything she creates.
Joyride After Dark was born from a simple frustration: most late-night shows weren't actually having the conversations Ivana wanted to hear. So she built the show she wished existed. A place where guests could be honest, messy, funny, and real — where the camera didn't demand a performance, it invited a confession.
Every episode, every essay, every live event is built around one belief: shame is the enemy of a good story. Joyride After Dark exists to create spaces — on screen, on stage, in your earbuds — where people can show up as they actually are. Beautifully complicated. Unapologetically themselves.
"I'm not interested in polished. I'm interested in true."
— Ivana Coquetú
